I have an old linksys wusb54g running perfectly on a windows 7 machine. I just installed windows 7 on two more pc s and cannot get the software/drivers to work. Is.

I cannot seem to find the driver for it and contacted Linksys support team and they are saying the driver for i am getting ready for windows 7. Model no: WUSB54G.

I don t know what or who generates those changes, but is it just me or every single buff listed there is already live.Aside from greater inviz which will still be. untill they put it in their heads that it needs to be reliable first and then worry about a cd for it.

They threw them in there just to mask / balance the nerfs. :D

Ice flows is bad design in my eyes when put on cd.It should be like shield block/charge, with rechargable charges.They just made it more appealing to arcane only because they put a mana cost on scorch.

This first talent tier and other talents tiers in general aside from mage bombs are going from a little choice to begin with feel to a it doesn t matter anymore, all the options won t make a difference.

My eyes are on fire at the moment.

The REAL list of Mage Changes 5.2FROST:

- Deep freeze now is a polymorph stun that heals the target and breaks on damage. It also grants the target enrage for 20 seconds, increasing damage done by 30

- Cone of Cold now gives the mage cold hands and they can t cast another frost spell for 5 seconds

- Ice Block is now so thick that a mage cannot breathe, the lax of oxygen causes damage the exact same way drowning in water does.

- Frost Bomb has been renamed Water balloon, and hurls a non-lethal waterballoon at a target, dealing no damage but causing the target to become wet for the next minute, also granting the target enrage for this time, increasing damage by 15

FIRE:

- Critical Mass now increases the critical multiplier on spells by. 75. If the mage doesn t take this talent they suffer a permanent debuff which doesn t allow them to crit with fire spells. Merry. 1ng christmas mages.

- Pyroblast now has a 1 minute cooldown

- Inferno Blast now goes from a guranteed crit to a baseline 20 crit chance

- Fire does not have access to deep freeze

- Living Bomb now causes the target to stay living as long as the bomb is up, instead of doing damage it will now heal the target for 8,463 per second for the duration

ARCANE:

- Nether tempest now pulls the mage into twisting nether, somewhere between netherstorm and hellfire peninsula. If the mage is in arena, RBG, or raid, they will be pulled out of it.

- Polymorph now turns the target into an angry battle sheep which can move as it wishes, is healed, and can attack targets with an ability called WOEFUL WOOL STRIKE for a baseline 100k damage

- Arcane Blast no longer grants arcane charges

- Arcane Barrage has a 3 minute CD

- Mastery has been reworked to increase damage done by incredible numbers when the mage is at exactly 37.6 mana. Otherwise it has no effect

- Counterspell has been removed from the game. Not silences, just mage counterspell.

This is over the top. Will make mages quite useless in pvp.

And here I was thinking they didn t want to nerf my pve experience I kinda need deep freeze against a bit harder stuff I need to nuke like rares or random bosses lest they get to nuke my face in. Breaking on one shatter damage would be stupid as hell. .

And pretty sure invocation nerf makes it just a glorified RoP, I dont like. :/

Here s hoping my pet freeze will remain most unchanged it would be absolute. if I had to walk around with a most likely very very buggy water jet or cleave on a boss that would greatly benefit from having freeze hit two targets, but not being able to use freeze at all.

Well it is early stage of testing so maybe some patch notes come with some buffs. But now It looks like fire will be dead spec in 5.2 in pvp and pve also. I was wating for some major changes for lvl 90 talents but it seems i will have to still play with this akward mana regen talens play another content.

Arcane Blast mana cost has been increased to 1.66667 of base mana was 1.5.

So basically this will affect Arcane for PvE since scorchweaving is essential for keeping 6 stacks of AC and Arcane Blast itself will requare more mana. This is ridiculous for the spec which requare to keep mana as close to 100 as possible.

And using of Arcane Barrage will result in DPS loss, probably not gamebreaking but still arcane will do less DPS.

And with that:

Rune of Power now your mana regeneration is increased by 75 when standing in the rune, down from 100.

I m not sure how Arcane mages suppose to keep up mana at high . Mana cost of main damaging spell will be increased while regeneration will be reduced.

I don t understant why everyone is complaing about mages. If you play 3v3 and your healer isn t a stupid. , he will dispell the deep and the bomb. We have to put the bomb on a target, deep him and then use fire blast so the bomb will explode, but any decent healer with a brain knows that he has to dispell the bomb and the deep. Also the mage can be silenced, or interrupted while casting that bomb. Now you forced us to play with Nether Tempest. That s the most stupid playstyle in WoW. To dot everyone and wait for the procs. I m not a fire mage or a moonkin or whatever. I m a frost mage. I don t want any dots.

There was a lot of screen shots that Blizzard take seriously for 150 - 200 k crit frost bomb in arena.The thing Bliz didn t see is that This 200 k crits was made on 200 rate in 2v2 on PVE geared player from full PVP geared mage.I hope more nerfs come till 5.2 release because playing a mage now us not really interesting..

The scorch mana change was sort of announced on Twitter already a few days ago. GC said something like once we fix scorch spamming in arcane, arcane will be fine. They felt it wasn t intended and it was allowing arcane to do too much damage in PvE.

The deep freeze shatter change is only mentioned on the datamined MMO Champion notes. It s not part of the official notes. I think it s either a datamining mistake or something a PTR experiment that will not go live. It s too big of a change for solo PvE play too, in my opinion.

My guess it s like that since the start of TBC when melee classes has actually lost their superiority to casters, especially mages and had no idea how to counter them. Since then everybody just used to talk about OP mages. And mages were slightly above other castes during last 2 expansions.

Usually most of the complains against mages are not grounded by any actual numbers so it s impossible to tell what exactly they mean by OP. There were many complains about CC abilities of mages while most of those who complain are forgetting about their own mobility, amount of armor, instant melee spells no need to cast unlike mage and selfheals.

At the start of MoP and with the changes that blizzard were making, I thought this expansion might turn out to be pretty good a couple of seasons in.

I do not think this anymore.

I like that rogues are laughing at us, but they don t realize that mage rogue was the best comp in 2s and RMP was the best comp in 3s cata.

Hopefully the Deep Freeze change won t make it as it would make the spell essentially useless.

At least they re taking steps to make Invocation less of a hassle, but there s still the problem of trying to tie it to the pre-pull for maximum DPS. Adding an effect like they were considering for 5.1 where you can Evocate and get the buff up for the next pull and get maximum uptime would be useful there.

Incanter s Ward still needs a lot of work to reduce the effects of RNG. It s a shame they re not scapping these talents entirely like they ve done with a few classes, but I suppose it is early days.

Cold Snap change seems bizarre as the talent isn t exactly fantastic, a problem with several other mage talents.

Freeze not doing any damage is actually quite useful for older content, and I hope they do the same with Frost Nova. Still hope Water Jet makes it in this time, and I d still kill for a way to ditch the Elemental entirely.

But what I think it shouldnt be is that Fire should be entirely seperated from Frost, this crap about Deep Freeze, how the hell is Fire going to exist or not exist in PvP I do see the point of this Deep Freeze nerf and I kinda like it, but the thing is, every other class should be skillcap depended too and mostly healers, because with this new state of Deep Freeze its going to be like one spell burst with skill timing and everything, otherwise one other CC.

What Im talking about is that with these changes mage will no longer be burst class, but what about other classes like warriors when they pop cooldowns and destroy everything in their way.

Personaly I see where this is going and Im pretty sure Deep Freeze change wont make it live.To me its just stupid idea, just like Pyroblast on 3 sec cooldown, I dont take it seriously at all.

Let me remind you :

Shockwave now has a 40 second cooldown was 20 seconds, striking 3 or more targets will reduce its cooldown by 20 seconds.

Second Wind now causes a Warrior that has been reduced to 35 health or lower to regenerate 2 of their health per second was 3, and now generates 15 Rage over 10 seconds was 20 Rage.

Glyph of Death from Above no longer increases the damage dealt by Heroic Leap.

Frostbolt cast by Mirror Image now deals 50 more damage.

Makes me sad. Another instant cooldown to align. Another tool for more burst on demand :

The mirror image buff is explained like this: currently fire arcane get more DPS from them by glyphing that ability. Frost doesn t. Buffing MI frostbolts brings the ability to the same level as the fire/arcane glyphed version, making the glyph optional it s a minor glyph, so it shouldn t be a DPS boost and giving the same benefit to frost mages.

1 CS no longer is a silence.. We have had that as a skill for a while now and I dont like the change. I personally have always been one to aim for lockouts anyway, but lets face it, with the number of instants both heals and offensive spells out there, there is little to lockout. Maybe change successful lockout to also silence..

Yes, this will be interesting because the listed changes to Scorch and Rune of Power will take Arcane back to where it was in 5.0. Well, almost back because they buffed the damage increase of Arcane Charges in 5.1, but a 5 -6 dps buff will not make 5.0-style Arcane a viable raiding spec in 5.2

I know that Blizzard has told that they only want tweak numbers in patch 5.2. But for example rogues got two new level 90 talents. So maybe there is still hope because it is almost impossible to make Arcane a viable spec without any bigger changes.

Frost mages finger of frost and brainfreeze procs cause those attacks to act as if the target were frozen anyway. With the deep freeze change it could simply be used for a well timed frost bomb or as a form of CC.

Fire mages just need to use deep freeze more methodically, without a doubt there will be fewer pyroblast crits, however I don t think the damage will suffer to badly.

Greater Invisibility now has a 90 second cooldown was 2.5 minutes.

These are all good changes and help to overall balance the class.

So it will stay the same as it is now except Frost mages might cast Fristbolt more then usual.

I didn t stole some mage account I ve been playing my mage since 2005.

Frost bomb damage should have been reduced yes, but that wasn t the only problem.

Other spells needed to be toned down as well, spellsteal is an excellent example. You could gain all the buffs from a target and with the glyph heal yourself at the same time. So the reduced the number of potential spellsteal casts without mana regen from about 20 down to 5.

With ring of frost and PoM we could instantly freeze an entire enemy team for 10 seconds, even now we can still freeze 10 players.

Deepfreeze does provide a large amount of burst, yes. But as I previously stated whether or not the target is frozen has no effect on the ice lances and frostfire bolts under the effect of fingers of frost or brainfreeze. It really only has an effect on how fast we can burst someone down as frozen orb etc won t benefit from shatter or our mastery as easily.

It shouldn t be too problematic for fire either, although fire suffers more greatly from this nerfs effects.

Anyway, my standpoint on balancing mages through cata and mop has always been to do something with either Shatter or our mastery, and it looks like they finally have.

As a non-FOTM warrior who has become accustomed to the constant over-nerfing and over-buffing of warriors in completely the wrong ways if I had a penny for every post on the warrior forums asking for more sustained and less burst dmg I feel sorry for you guys. It must be a real shock to the system to get a pretty much first ever. nice game-changing nerf :D Don t worry, you get used to it eventually. I don t care about pvp but so many arcane nerfs.. Having played both fire and arcane after 5.1 I can see why they might ve wanted to nerf the damage of arcane a bit but nerf scorch, arcane blast AND remove fire blast glyph on top of that. I m sure mages will be able to go back to fire and still do okeyish damage but mage was one of the staple dps classes in wow since vanilla. Was it really necassary to go this crazy with the nerfs. I had stopped playing mage as main after the end of tbc when they decided to buff hybrids but was excited to come back to the class when I thought they were making it a powerful dps class again. Just wait till the PTR is active and play a Mage in PvP for yourself, and give good feedback. QQing like this is as sad as it can get.

What people seem to forget is, that Frost is now more focussed on DD from Frostbolt, both your own as your mirror images. Thats change will make the damage output of Frost be way less about burst and more about controll. And wasn t burst the main issue in PvP. Or do you guys think that only Mages should have burst. Because thats the idea I get atleast.

Every class but mages can either wear something better than cloth or use some sort of tanking pet or endlessly heal themselves some of the classes have few of those abilities at the same time. The only way mage can actually do anything is through CC and killing stuff before it will be able to hit the mage.

Let s look on Brawlers guild as an example. For paladins and warriors it s walk in the park while mages are actually struggle to do this. Same with rare spawns, soloing content, etc.

If you ll bring up arena then probably you should check your game box if it s saying World of Arena anywhere on it. And according to arena ladders I see a lot of teams in top without mages at all while if mages are so OP then there should not be any other teams but those who has one or more mages in them.

Hi there. I see that you never played end level content until the end of WotLK. Well let me tell you something, lad: Mages were an utility class from Vanilla to the end of WotLK in PvP. They were never seen as awesome imba nuke classes Except for PoM pyro, but that doesn t really count since frost mage was better back then aswell. They shouldn t have the same damage as other classes in PvP, they re not made for that. They re made for CC and utility. When these to aspects got combined in Cata, they went from really good to God mode. They just weren t intended that way from the beginning, so they either have to get nerfed in CC and utility or damage. Since players would cry even more if their damage got nerfed, this happened.

That s all good and well but there is one flaw with this logic. PvP is just one part of the game. CC and utility is useless in realities of PvE, both solo and group. Then When you re nerfing so called PvP damage why should it affect PvE. This is the main reason of frustration.

Blizzard is unwilling to separate PvP talents and skills from PvE. And balanced for PvP mage is basically most squishy and defenseless class in PvE. Because CC just doesn t work in raids or rare spawns. Blizzard has made almost every elite and rare mob immune to CC effects.

For example I m playing on RP PvE server for PvE experience and content. Why should I be affected by some arena balance. Have you ever tried to kill any rare spawn while playing mage on your own. It s just not possible. And at the same time DK, Paladin, Warrior, Shaman and some other classes have absolutely no problems with that. How is this balance.

Mage utility abilities is absolutely useless in raids. So you can t use it as an argument. This is not Vanilla or TBC anymore when mage utility was actually useful.

Actually, mages have always been a CC and BURST class.

TBC shattercombos were capable of taking away over half of people s health. Mage damage was also very strong in wotlk arcane being one of the biggest burst specs in the game and frost being very strong due to turreting frostbolts.

This makes me a bit concerned about the viablility of mages. Esp. Fire. All through cata mages were at best slightly above average. When 5.0.5 hit we got a bit of a buff due to increased crits i do not have official numbers to confirm this. But we were still way below other classes like DK. With this latest nerf we will once again have serious mana issues and because we are very dependant on crits the reduced crit will seriously reduce our damage output.

As Arcane I ve noticed that my single target non-movement fights, I ve lost 20-30k dps. Also Keeping Mana up is a nightmare now, since AB drains it rapidly, just to get to a 4 stack we lose 20 mana and because of our Mastery that in itself is a dps hit.

It s not the first time Mages have suffered a major nerf. Mages were the dps class in Vanilla and then maybe about 1/4 of the way into BC were beaten with the nerf bat. It was so bad that some of the more competitive servers wanted mages for tables and buffs and that was it.

So, nihil novi. It happened before and it is happening again and it ll be another class in a few patches or next xpack.

ETA: I don t think there is a way for Blizz to balance all of the classes in pvp or pve. It s like trying to keep all he subscribers happy. Good luck.

The only time mages ever collectively got sat due to low dps was at the end of Burning Crusade when Sunwell Plateau was the current content.

Warlocks and shadow priests had amazing synergy. Each warlock increased the dps of shadow damage done to the target. And it stacked. So the more warlocks you had the more shadow damage all your shadow damage dealers did to the target. Combined with very low mage dps at the time, and raids found they got much better results when they brought a 5th warlock instead of a second mage. Many top progressing guilds at the time would bring just 0 or 1 mage to the raid.

That stacking synergy is gone, so hopefully the issue won t be as severe now. My own raid group is progressing slowly as we only have the first boss down. On Jinrokh, I was very unimpressed with my performance. In a 10 player raid I was 5th as arcane and 4th as frost. The previous tier I very often came in 1st, yet on Jinrokh I was far in the back with 30 lower dps than our top dps. Yuck.

However, on Horridon, frost seems to do better, as I m 1st on the meter on most of our attempts due to all the cleave damage. We don t yet have a kill though so I expect my ranking to drop once we get to the final phase.

It s very disheartening seeing posts by other mages who are much further progressed, confirming that even at high levels of gear and progression, mages suck this tier.

My god you have never played a mage have you. Fire mages are one of the toughest classes to play and I know, since I have played so many. They have situational DPS, which requires you to create the situation. In cata, I played shatter fire. They had some top burst, medium sustained, med utility, and low survivability. As of patch 5.2 they have low dps and the rest stays the same.

The problem came from people like you complainging when a fully raid geared mage joined your heroic and pulled 130k dps while you did 20k clearly your bad and then you. ed to blizzard.

In raids mages could top, but so could soo many other classes. They just killed a class. Its people like you who do not know how to play that complain and screw the game up. People say shaman healing is tough. I have a priest as well and I am a beast with this class too. No more heroics though.

It s really dumb to link the best parses in the world as evidence that mages are doing well right now since by their nature the best parses will almost never happen even for the best players and it s even dumber to link Simcraft, whose Mage modules are drastically incomplete, as evidence of Mage s standing relative to other DPS.

Except that by definition, those 24 mages are at high levels of gear and progression, and obviously aren t sucking like the OP and Co. claim they are. So unless the mages the OP talked with are lying or are actually terrible, my post denouncing his claim still stands.

I don t know what the hell OP is talking about, its all about your skill level. You are probably a terrible mage. I have the lowest iLvl in my guild and I beat everyone on damage as Arcane. You need to reflect more on your rotation and ability to max out your dps in anyway possible while surviving on these fights.

only issue i have atm is that i feel like even in ilvl 515 gear, as much as standing in RoP was painful.5.1 arcane was just so strong it was stupid :P i feel weak compared to thatbut not compared to any other class.

all our specs are goodarcane at the higher ilvls, myself i couldnt get decent output in 505gear so changed to frost.

I guess if you arent doing enough damage with a mage its a L2P and gearing issue.

This all the recorded runs, fire is in the middle of the pack.

Now when the data is switched to top 100 parses a different picture is painted. They made the gear curve really sharp but when you get over the hump you are at the pinnacle of potential dps with fire. You are better off sticking with it through the learning and gearing curve so it becomes a more intuitive process like driving a manual transmission instead of relearning different specs over and over again. Now i see why blizz ninja nerfed pyroblast 10 when the patch dropped. It would have been the new FOTM class and I would rather have a smaller pool of more skilled mages then a bunch of bandwagon riders who don t appreciate the class but are here simply for an OP spec and would get us castrated even more due to more people playing the class.

The best players abuse the hell out of it in their favors, without a doubt. Have you ever heard of proc stacking. The difference between good players, and the best players, is the best players force rng to work for them instead of against them. Everyone is susceptible to rng, but only to an extent.

I have 3 main gripes in pvp, and the mage changes that keep coming through from Blizz ignore them:

Fire really needs an execute ability.

There are no pvp fire glyhphs if there were id have em

Fire has 1 good aoe: living bomb explosion, the only other two I like are cone of cold and frost nova. Frost nova deserves a mention because it is so integral to fire and maximizing damage, that the amount of aoe damage it does is actually really good.

Flame strike is fail for pvp; inferno blast spreading of ignite/pyro/combustion is small, complicated, messy and uninteresting and would be better rolled into a bigger ability; and blizzard is no longer relevant to how fire is played in pvp.

Fix these 3 major issues and fire would almost feel as polished as destro imo. And by this, removal of things like Blizzard and arcane explosion from the spec and replaced with more power on a good aoe or whatever, would be a great option too; its not just a call for mindless buffs to everything in the toolkit, however crappy those spells are.

My god you have never played a mage have you. Fire mages are one of the toughest classes to play and I know, since I have played so many. They have situational DPS, which requires you to create the situation. In cata, I played shatter fire. They had some top burst, medium sustained, med utility, and low survivability What are you mages complaining about, I gave mages a go in cata and fire dps was not a hard rotation. I would sit there proccing free pyroblasts while playing with one hand and slowly feeding pizza to my face. From my experience its always mages who are the first to cry to forums when they get nerfed. Did you even check the dps rankings before ToT. All 3 mage specs were the top 3. Tell me how that should be okay, while other 3 dps spec tree classes receive no where near the same treatment. So frost had the highest potential dps in game, coupled with all frost s cc and survival cooldowns. And people cry because frostbolt got a nerf

Hi there,

I use x220 top model with extended battery now. It weighs 3.6 pounds according to the spec sheet. I ve been planning to buy x240 thinking it would be thinner and lighter considering the two years in between. However, the spec sheet of the x240 with extended battery is still 3.6 pounds.

Could someone clarify this please. I m loving my x220 though I recently bought Sony VAIO Pro 11. SONY s machine is good with HD screen and it s impossibly light and thin. However I feel scared to use it because it seems so fragile Thinkpad on the otherhand can take my beating, loves the keyboard and performance. But it s bit heavy considering other machines on the block noawadays. :-

I found a thread somewhere else that matches the problem I am having but with another laptop brand:

To fix this particular problem, I had to do the following:

Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Power Options.

from there it doesn t matter which plan you pick Balanced, Power Saver, High Performance. choose one and click Change Plan Settings, then Change Advanced Power Settings.

Under Procecessor Power Management, make sure the Minimum and Maximum settings are at 100.

After changing some settings in BIOS i got stuck in a reboot - loop.

Cannot access the BIOS any more - pressing F1 changes the message to Entering BIOS Setup Utility followed by the message configuration changed - restart the system

F12 changes the message to Preparing Boot Device List followed by  configuration changed - restart the system and the system reboots again.

Tried to remove the battery, pressing the power button for 10-15 sec. and reboot with AC Adapter connected

Tried to remove the battery and unplug the bios battery for 3 days the reset the bios - doesn t work

Tried to boot via USB BIOS update, FreeDOS with BIOS update, Ubuntu-Live-USB - nothing worked. . didn t change the boot-order - i always prefer USB boot

Removing hard-disk produces the message no operating system found

Are there any tricks for resetting the BIOS to defaults, flashing BIOS without booting from USB.
